APPENDIX 4: RESIDENT JOB PLACEMENT

As many of you may know, with increasing government intervention to improve reimbursement to primary care specialists and decrease reimbursement to subspecialists such as anesthesiologists, jobs have become increasingly difficult to find following graduation from residency training. To meet this challenge, our Department has put together a job placement program based on extensive networking of our graduates in Florida as well as many other states. Given the excellent reputation of our program, the quality of our graduates, and with the aid of this placement program, we were one of the few programs nationally to have all its residents employed prior to graduation. Through the efforts of all of our faculty, but especially Dr. Sheldon Munach, one of our faculty members who was in private practice for many years, the network promises to be even better this year. To help with placement, we have prepared a brochure featuring brief resumes of all our graduating residents to help program directors throughout the country decide which of our residents fit their employment needs. A copy of this brochure is available for your perusal from Mary Newman in the Chairman's office.
