SUBJECT: Requests for Nonstandard Testing Conditions for the July 8,
2006 ABA/ASA In-Training Examination
The ABA
and the ASA are co-sponsors of the annual in-training examination that is
developed and administered by the ABA/ASA Joint Council on In-Training
Examinations. The ASA office receives resident registration information and the
in-training examination fee from program directors. However, effective with the
July 8, 2006 in-training examination, the ABA
will administer requests from residents and program directors for nonstandard
testing conditions. Please note the following changes for requesting
nonstandard procedures for the July 8, 2006 ABA/ASA In-Training Examination.
- The ABA office, acting on behalf of the
Joint Council, administers the process for reviewing and deciding requests
from in-training examinees for nonstandard testing.
- The “Request for Test Accommodations”
form is available from the ABA
upon request. To obtain a form, contact Ms. Shirline D. Fuller at the ABA office by fax
(919-881-2575) or phone (919-573-4325).
- Program directors and residents
will forward their request for nonstandard testing directly to the ABA office: Attn: Nonstandard Examinations, 4101 Lake
Boone Trail, Suite
510, Raleigh, NC
27607-7506.
- Residents who received
nonstandard testing in past years must submit a “Request for Test
Accommodations” form to the ABA
office for nonstandard testing for the 2006 in-training examination.
- All requests
for nonstandard testing must be sent to the ABA office no later than February 15,
2006. Requests submitted after February 15 will not be considered. Please
note: The request deadline will be
January 15 for exams in 2007 and thereafter.
- The ABA office must receive all
documentation to support the request for nonstandard testing no later
March 15, 2006.
- The ABA office will notify the resident when
a decision has been made about the resident’s request for nonstandard
testing.
